   11:45am - Seminar Presentation (11:45am to 1:00pm)

Additional Comments:  I ask whether the number or identities of criminal groups in Mexico has any incidence on homicides rates and local labor markets. To answer this question I develop an instrumental variables framework where the first stage models a dynamic entry game played by the criminal groups. In this talk I will show empirical results based on two potential instruments and discuss their pros and cons.
